Geoff Hancock, is an experienced VP-CISO and accomplished Cybersecurity and business leader, specializing in cyber operations, policy, threat hunting as well as enterprise security strategy. He currently serves as a Security Advisor to PurpleSec.

Employing strategic methodologies, operational excellence, and targeted initiatives, Geoff’s experience drives the integration of business, technology and cybersecurity.

His expertise extends to orchestrating robust enterprise security initiatives, fostering collaborative relationships with executive peers, and optimizing business operations. With a track record of establishing and overseeing 36 Security Operations Centers (SOC) for both government entities and commercial enterprises, Geoff possesses extensive experience in constructing and driving cybersecurity operations across several business and industry verticals.

In his roles as an instructor and adjunct professor within institutions such as George Washington University’s World Cyber MBA program, National Intelligence University, and Army Cyber Command, Geoff has nurtured the talents of emerging cybersecurity professionals, business professionals and technology experts.

He’s also been privileged to deliver keynote and other speaking engagements at prominent cybersecurity conferences and exclusive corporate and governmental gatherings, including RSA, ISC2, Blackhat, US Cyber Crime Conference, and Gartner. These engagements have allowed him to share (and learn) his extensive insights and experiences with a diverse audience.

His qualifications include a portfolio of certifications including CISSP, CISA, PMP, CEH, and various IT Cloud and Cyber certifications. His ongoing dedication to enhancing his technical proficiencies in areas such as cyber operations, systems engineering, cloud security, cyber intelligence operations, and more, underscores his commitment to staying at the forefront of the field.

His contributions extend to his roles on National Security, Cybersecurity and AI task forces and advisory roles with DHS, ODNI and the Intel community. Additionally serving as a Senior Fellow at George Washington/Auburn Universities Center for Cyber and Homeland Security.

He also advises several corporate boards as well as the Center for Internet Security.
